Your choice of dress may come as a surprise to you in the end—what may be unappealing on the hanger may look completely different when you try it on!
When searching for your bridal gown, trying on a variety of dresses is the key to finding the one you really love. At The Bridal House, we find our brides tend to gravitate to a certain type of gown and style they think will look good. We like to have our staff provide our brides with a few different options, and some you never considered before.
Because most of us don’t wear full-length gowns on a regular basis, it is hard to know what suits us and our individual body types best. The most common dress types include A-line or Princess style, Empire, Column, Ball Gown, and Mermaid.
We recommend that you not judge a gown on the hanger – as it needs to be worn to understand the it’s full effect. For more information on how to find the gown of your dreams, we have created a handy brochure. Click here for the PDF.
Your ideal dress is out there, you just have to be a bit strategic in finding it! Then again, all of them may look great on you, and then it is just a matter of choosing “the one” (just like you did when you chose your future husband).
In July I had the opportunity to go to California to look at a new collection for our stores. In the fall, we will proudly be carrying the Enzoani collection, Enzoani blue and their bridesmaid/cocktail gowns. The Enzoani corporation put on a great show and I will post some photo’s from the fashion show very soon. That way you can get a preview of what’s coming this fall.

For some, getting married is often something that we dream about doing for a long time…from the time we are little girls. For others, it is something you never imagined yourself doing. For everyone though, once you decide you are taking the plunge, it is the same for everyone…there is planning to be done, no matter what the size, level of extravagance, or location you have in mind.
I’m Natalie, owner of the Bridal House with my parents and husband. We have been in the bridal business for over 15 years now and it has been an incredibly rewarding journey! Together we have the Bridal and Tuxedo House store, now located in North Edmonton, and also our exclusive Bridal House Couture location, in downtown Commerce Place. It carries one-of-a-kind dresses by designers from all over the world. I love my job because I get to help girls feel the most beautiful they have ever felt on one of the most important days of their lives. It’s a good feeling when I see tears of happiness with my clients!
If you are looking for your perfect gown, I want to help you out! I can’t wait to share my bridal gown stories with you…all 15 years worth!
Best wishes, brides-to-be,
Natalie
